Theme
Park Holidays

|
The history of theme
parks date many years. You can find its roots
in as early as the year 1133 when the
Bartholomew Fair took place in
England.
Various fairs started to
sprout in a number of different places across
the globe in the years
following.
|
These events evolved over time and took
on a more permanent setting in the form of large theme
parks.
These were parks constructed to provide
fun for the whole family in the form of rides, shows,
entertainment and great food. Initially these parks were
relatively small and were probably best to keep everyone busy
for an evening of fun. Nowadays, things are different.
Mega parks have been built across the
world where families plan entire theme park holidays around
them. As opposed to being a single attraction, part of a larger
vacation package, the theme parks themselves have become the
one big attraction. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to
figure out why of course. There really is something for
everyone. Moms, dads and the children all have good
time.
So what is the sort of things you should
ensure to include in your theme park holidays? Here’s a short
checklist which you should judge your travel agent on.
Accommodation
How close is the accommodation to the
actual theme park? Let’s face it, the park is where you want to
be and spend most your time. It would be a waste of time if you
had to drive an hour every day (or more!) to your destination.
A good theme park holiday will either put you up in a luxury
hotel that’s part of the Theme Park resort, or some classy
accommodation nearby with a daily shuttle service running to
and from the main attractions.

Thrill
Rides
Every family and travel
group has its adrenaline junkies. Therefore
every theme park holiday should also have some
great thrill rides to satisfy them. These are
the rides where all the crazy pictures are
taken and the ones you and your friend &
family will keep on talking for years to
come.
|
Make sure the theme parks you’re going to
have these rides. Names like ‘Death Plunge’, ‘Fireball’ and
‘Ghost Mountain’ should all be a good indication that there’s
some potential.
|
Shows
Theme parks aren’t all
about rides. It just so happens that very often
people enjoy many of the live shows more than
the rides itself.
We think a good balance
is the best way to plan a good theme park
holiday.

Restaurants
As you’re going to spend
your whole day at the park, it’s vital that
they have a range of good
restaurants.
Junk food like hotdogs
and hamburgers are great, but after a few days
you may crave something a little
healthier.
|
Ask your travel agent if the theme parks
have a variety of restaurants from which you can
choose.
Nightlife
This includes anything from good
night-time shows, clubs, bars and even restaurants. You’ll have
very little to do if the park closes at 5pm and you’re left
having to find something to keep yourself busy with. Exciting
nightlife can turn a good holiday into a great
one!
Stick to these main points and your theme
park holiday will be an absolute blast. Two ideas that will get you
thinking straight away are to consider a Walt Disney vacation
package or a universal studio
vacation package. Both these two destinations have all the
ingredients for a perfect theme park holiday that you’ll never
forget.
