Niagara Falls Vacation Packages

Because of its romantic setting, many people have their wedding or honeymoon here.   

A Niagara Falls vacation package can come in a variety of shapes and sizes. First thing you should know is that there is an American and Canadian side.  

The American Side    This is situated in upstate New York. Most travellers immediately think of the waterfalls when talking about Niagara Falls vacation packages.   Although this is the centrepiece of attraction, there are much more than just this. These include:

Goat and Luna Island 

These are two charming Islands that are definitely worth the visit in itself. Goat’s island is renowned for its nature scenes, whilst also providing easy access to sites such as the cave of the winds and Top of the Falls Restaurant.  

Luna Island on the other hand sits between American and Bridal Veil Falls and has really impressive views on both of these.  

Niagara Gorge Discovery Center  

If you like history, science and nature, this is the place for you. Niagara has been a focal point of interesting shifts ever since the ice age. The discovery center will take you on an educational and visual ride of the transformation of this area of the many years.   

Daredevil Museum  

The daredevil museum is a fun and free way to kill an hour or two. It’s in close vicinity of the falls and has some interesting memorabilia and info on daredevil legends such as Steve Trotter and Robert Overacker.  

Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel 

A recent addition to Niagara Falls vacation packages is the Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel. This is the largest hotel in the State of New York outside of Manhattan. This is a great place to spend some time in perhaps the Casino, visit the restaurants, see a show or even stay at the hotel and enjoy the benefits of its Spa, Pool and Fitness Center.  

Alternatively you can consider a Niagara Falls vacation package that is focussed on the Canadian side.  

The first place to start is the Canadian Horseshoe falls. This is the most recognizable landmark on the Canadian side. On top of that you can literally have a list of hundreds of things to do. This area is a tourist hotspot that has restaurants of all varieties and an array of various attractions.  

During the summer months there are fireworks shows every Friday and Sunday. Although there are some firework events in the winter time, it’s less frequent during these times. You can also kill a few hours by visiting the IMAX theatre or take a closer look at the falls by visiting ‘Journey behind the Falls’.    Whatever you do, make sure to have a drink or meal at the world famous Skylon Tower. This is a building with revolving restaurant that is almost as popular a landmark as the falls itself!

If you stay more than few days you can consider going out for a round of golf. The Niagara Falls region (on both the American and Canadian side) is known for its wonderful golf courses. There are plenty to choose from, so you’re almost guaranteed to have a great time on the greens! 

The icing on the cake for most is the wineries. Some of the most popular North American wines come from this region. The American side of the falls have well known names such as the Arrowhead Spring Vineyards, Freedom Run Winery and Eveningside Vineyards. One the other side of the border you’ll find places like 13th Street Winery, Cave Spring Cellars, Featherstone Winery & Vineyard and many more. Obviously a must on the itinerary for wine lovers!

Simply put, a Niagara Falls vacation package can be a fun time for the whole family. It’s a great place to kick back and relax as well as seeing a truly memorable natural wonder of the world.
