Aruba is a small island in
the Caribbean and is situated about 15 miles of the
coast of Venezuela. An Aruba vacation package
is sure to satisfy everyone looking for that
relaxing island holiday and is almost guaranteed to
have you booking another trip to this spectacular
island destination.
The capital city of Aruba is
Oranjestad and the country’s only international airport is also
situated near this city. This is
Reina Beatrix International Airport and is
located on the west side of the island.
Getting around on the island is very
simple. It’s a small island, so a lot of your necessary travel
can actually be done on feet and on bicycles. Alternatively you
can get around on the public transport bus system, commonly
known as ‘Arubas’. If you prefer not to be overly dependant on
public means of getting around, you can rent a car for the
duration of your stay.
So what sort of things do
you include in an Aruba vacation package?
First of all, all the usual island stuff is a
must.
Work on your tan on the
beach, splash around in the clear ocean waters
and partake in some watersports.
Then there are also a few sites and
attractions which you can include in your Aruba vacation
package.
CaliforniaLighthouse
This is a very well known landmark in the
Aruba landscape which is located in the north-western part
of the island. Open to traveller’s it provides an astonishing
view of the western coastline and seemingly endless sand dunes.
Casibari Rock & Ayo Rock
Formations
Arawak Indians used to live here and put
their drawings on the rocks. Studies have shown that this
Indian tribe used to visit the rocks to forecast thunderstorms
nearing the island.
Bushiribana Gold
Mill
Some consider this a bit of a waste of
time, but if carefully incorporated as part of a large daytrip
its worth your while. Simply, it’s part of a building where
Gold used to be milled.
Boca Catalina and the Antilla
Shipwreck
Worth every second if you can scuba dive.
The Antilla was a German ship which sank about a half a mile
off the northwest coast. It lies approximately 60 feet below
water and is locally known as the ‘Ghost Ship’. This is a great
excursion that can be part of your Aruba vacation package.
Hooiberg
Aruba
is generally a flat island, so a bit of a fuss is made about
its highest point. Hooiberg is around 167m high and almost in
the center of the island. It’s therefore a great spot for a
view of the surrounding areas. It’s also easily accessible with
steps leading up to the top of the mountain.
With all these great sites and beautiful
beaches, Aruba is sure to give you the rest that you and
your family deserve. A lovely location that always get rave
reviews from tourists.
